The Challenge

To transform a stagnant and aging cultural site into a new-generation edutourism destination that speaks to modern audiences—revitalizing national identity, stimulating tourism, and delivering immersive hospitality powered by creativity, technology, and operational excellence.

Wegrow's Integrated Role

Design

Build

Operate

Unlike typical vendors or event managers, Wegrow commits our own capital to viable projects and takes full responsibility for the success of each destination. We led the transformation from concept to execution—designing the narrative, building the infrastructure, enriching the content, and managing day-to-day operations.

Creative Transformation

From Static to Story-Driven

We reimagined the 13 traditional kampung houses not as displays, but as living, breathing story zones—each with a different narrative theme rooted in Malaysia's cultural richness.

Multisensory Immersion

Each house is infused with a blend of technology and tradition, making it an active space of discovery with immersive experiences.

13 Houses, 13 Experiences

Each rumah represents a different state, brought to life with curated themes like traditional weddings, heritage trades, folklore, and epic legends.

Immersive Lighting

Crafted lantern pathways, mood lighting, and programmable LED installations bring magic after dusk with dynamic theme-based lighting.

Projection Mapping

Recreating iconic moments like the Golden Era of Melaka, shadow puppetry, and mythical storytelling through advanced projection technology.

Animatronics

Life-size animatronic figures of legendary beings such as Orang Mawas, Gajah Mina, and forest spirits with motion and sound.

Cultural Mannequins

Life-sized figures in authentic attire and settings, simulating daily kampung life with ambient soundscapes.

Mixed Reality

Guests use tablets to activate scenes like shadow puppet stories, dance rituals, and heritage crafts in motion.

DATIN HALIMAH BINTI ABDULLAH

Non-Executive Director

Datin Halimah Binti Abdullah is an accomplished diplomat who previously served as Ambassador of Malaysia to Italy and Thailand, with a distinguished career in public service, international affairs, and cross-border cultural engagement.

Since joining Wegrow, she has brought not only her vast global network and diplomatic gravitas, but also a strategic advisory role in navigating government relations and public policy. Her early involvement was crucial in facilitating key introductions — including to the leadership of MIDA — which enabled Datuk Yong to successfully secure the Pioneer Status and Tax Incentive Allowance, positioning Wegrow for strong national alignment and financial advantages.

Datin Halimah’s experience in public relations and government engagement continues to be an asset, particularly in helping Wegrow understand, interpret, and comply with regulatory frameworks and policy requirements across different ministries and jurisdictions. Her insights regularly help the team align with national education priorities, tourism strategies, and diplomatic protocols — especially when engaging with state agencies, embassies, and international organizations.

She also plays a key role in refining public messaging and strategic communications, ensuring that Wegrow projects reflect both national values and international standards.

“Public perception and government synergy are as critical as innovation itself. I believe Wegrow’s mission is deeply aligned with Malaysia’s cultural and educational aspirations, and I’m honoured to support that vision.”

MR. TERENCE HO PUI TIN

Chairman

Mr. Terence Ho Pui Tin is a highly accomplished business leader and seasoned investor with over three decades of experience across finance, international trade, and corporate governance. As the core angel investor during Wegrow’s formative stage, Mr. Ho played a pivotal role in establishing the company’s financial credibility and early strategic partnerships.

Formerly serving as a board member of multiple public-listed companies in Hong Kong, Mr. Ho brings with him a deep understanding of global capital markets and corporate structuring. His ability to navigate cross-border finance and connect with international investment networks has allowed Wegrow to access wider capital channels and explore joint ventures beyond Malaysia.

Beyond investment, Mr. Ho’s early contributions were foundational. He was instrumental in bridging key vendor and supplier relationships in China, enabling Wegrow to source high-quality animatronics, display systems, and themed construction materials at competitive costs — laying the operational groundwork for the group’s first immersive attractions. His international reputation, particularly in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and Southern China, opened doors to exclusive supplier ecosystems, many of which continue to support Wegrow’s projects to this day.

His steady leadership, combined with sharp financial acumen, provides the strategic backbone that complements Wegrow’s creative and operational vision.

“Wegrow is more than an attraction developer — it’s a gateway to inspire the next generation through innovation and education. I am proud to support its global growth journey.”

MR. TEH EU JIN

Co-Founder & Executive Director

A dynamic creative leader and master of execution, Mr. Teh Eu Jin is the driving force behind the design, engineering, and delivery of Wegrow’s iconic educational attractions. With over a decade of hands-on experience in theme park development, fabrication, and immersive design, he has translated countless imaginative ideas into fully operational, world-class visitor experiences.

As the chief orchestrator of technical implementation, Eu Jin combines a keen eye for storytelling with deep knowledge of construction detailing, exhibit interaction mechanics, visitor flow, and materials engineering. His unique ability to connect creative intent with structural feasibility ensures that each zone, attraction, or installation not only meets international standards — but also resonates emotionally with the audience.

But his impact goes beyond project execution.

Eu Jin is deeply passionate about talent cultivation and team competency building. He is known for developing on-the-ground training programs, technical knowledge transfers, and hands-on mentorship for designers, engineers, builders, and animators across the Wegrow team. Under his leadership, Wegrow has nurtured an in-house multi-disciplinary team capable of executing projects from concept to completion — reducing outsourcing dependency and elevating local technical standards.

He also plays a critical role in integrating AR/VR technologies, projection mapping, mechatronics, and AI systems into Wegrow’s experiences, ensuring they are interactive, educational, and future-ready. His attention to safety, durability, and guest engagement makes him the cornerstone of Wegrow’s operational integrity.

“Design is not just about how things look — it’s how they work, how they make people feel, and how they inspire the next generation.”

Mr. Teh Eu Jin continues to shape Wegrow’s identity not just as a builder of attractions, but as a platform that empowers creators, inspires learners, and delivers unforgettable impact.
